Chapter Fourteen
Confused, disorientated and disappointed that he had stopped kissing her, Marina struggled to raise herself on her elbows, then fell back with a muffled cry of alarm. It turned to one of horrified pleasure as Justin's mouth found her.
'Justin! Stop it!' She struggled to sit up, but the intensity of the sensations his wickedly flickering tongue was producing seemed to have sapped all her strength. He stopped and sat back. She could just see a pair of laughing green eyes regarding her. 'Oh, don't.
'You told me to stop,' he said innocently.
'Yes...no...oh, please, don't stop.' It was the most outrageous, shameful, ecstatic sensation, one she would never have dreamed possible. Marina's blindly grasping hands found the edge of the table as Justin tipped her over into a mindless spiral of velvet blackness where all she was conscious of was her own gasping sobs and the convulsions racking her body.
She came to herself to find that she was still sprawled in total abandon on the hard desk, her legs dangling and Justin standing between them, his eyes burning with a mixture of desire and tenderness that stifled the incoherent words which came to her lips.
'Oh, sweetheart, to come home to you at the end of a long day...' His fingers were busy with the fastenings of his breeches and Marina's pleasure-saturated brain finally managed to focus on what was about to happen.
No, not here, she thought desperately, not in broad daylight when he could not help but realise the pain she was trying to hide when he took her. Not now, when she was still half-drugged by the pleasures he was teaching her.
'My lord?' The study door handle rattled and Marina gave a startled gasp, scrabbling to sit up, sweep her disordered skirts down to hide her legs. 'My lord, excuse me, but your bathwater is getting cold. Would you wish me to send for some fresh hot water in a little while?'
'Damn. No, thank you, Shepton. I will be right up, just as soon as I have put these papers away.'
'Papers, indeed!' Marina knew her voice was emerging as an unbecoming yelp as she scrambled off the desk, swiping frantically at her skirts. 'Justin, that was outrageous, and in broad daylight, and in your study of all places!'
'Mmm.' He caught her and pulled her close to him, indulging himself with a leisurely kiss. He smelt of leather and horse and sweat and under it the soap he used and the elusive scent that was simply male. Her male. Helpless with love and dizzy with outrageously satisfied desire, Marina pressed herself against him, aware of his arousal, aroused herself by it, even though she was frightened of what it meant.
'I think we should make love in every room in the house as it is finished,' he remarked, reluctantly putting her from him and going to unlock the door.
'Even the hall?' Thank goodness her skirts were only slightly creased, Marina patted distractedly at her hair as she followed Justin out of the study, fighting the shaky feeling that she should really go and sit down before her knees gave way.
